At the beginning of 2017 I started working on a series of variations on the hymn tune Terra Patris.  Terra Patris means Father's Earth and is the hymn tune for This Is My Father's World (Some hymnals call the tune Terra Beata or Blessed Earth).  So far I've sketched a lot of ideas and worked out around nine variations on the tune.  I have put my eighth variation into print form and I offer it here for your enjoyment.  Also, you can access a simple recording of the piece here.  If you would like to know more about Maltbie Babcock who wrote the words for the hymn you can see a short bio here.  A short bio of the composer of the tune, Franklin L.
